Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Ladder was too dead for me to actually reach the 45 games:
So I'll just post what I found in this thread.
In Doubles OU gaining momentum relies on a whole lot of different strategies compared to singles. Fake out, tailwind, paralysis, quash, all strategies to try and outspeed your opponent to...
Didn't previous gens also have things like Scarf Excadrill with Rapid Spin?
Given that the strategy in random battles is basically to switch to your hazard setter on turn 1, since your opponent is unlikely to have rapid spin/defog anyways, I'd rather have a slightly weird Band Hitmonlee set...
Can we remove the Maractus set with Sunny Day/Solar Beam/Weather Ball/Synthesis?
It never gets the chance to set it up and there are much better alternatives.
I propose something like:
Maractus @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
- Leech Seed
- Spikes
- Spiky Shield
- Sucker Punch
In my double battles, when Blacephalon kills itself with the recoil from Mind Blown, I get a few weird error messages. See this replay, last turn: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7doublesuu-966977668
I hope I can dump this team here, if not, my apologies.
Gen 7 Ultimate-Z
Klefki @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave
Muk-Alola @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Power of Alchemy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD...
I'm far from being an expert on making sets, so I guess you're absolutely right that you should run either Poison Jab or Power of Alchemy. So far I haven't run into any problems with PP (as you can just keep boosting if you're facing something weak and you want the power to hit something strong...
I just want to say that in this tier it is a HUGE help to have dual screens up.
When I've set up dual screens with Klefki, it opens up some opportunities for some more fun and bulky sets (as opposed to the Mirror Move Tapu Koko you find everywhere, for example)

Introduction
I initially created this team for a Doubles OU tournament, and honestly, not a lot of synergy thought went into building this. I combined some of the higher viability Pokémon, and (call me stubborn) Deoxys-A, because I simply love the power it has, and it's allowed in Doubles :D...
