Hey all! Let's get this final step up and going! It's time for DEX Entries!

Big daddy Jumbao gained the following entries:

Jumbao, the Giga Tree Pokemon

Sun: Jumbao use their sizable build to attack with sumo-like moves. They usually spar against each other but once in a while train with Hariyama.

Moon: The tighter the grip on its sash, the richer in vitality Jumbao is. When it perishes, the sash loosens away and flies into the wind.

Ultra Sun: From their arms, Jumbao pump out a sweet sap with enough force to dent a cruiser. It's apparently great for curing ailments, though.

Ultra Moon: Jumbao can live for over 1000 years, earning them the title as 'Beings of Life'. Many believe just being around one leaves one feeling revitalized.
Let's see what you guys can come up with for Mumbao!

Legal Pokedex submissions must meet the following standards
  • Pokedex Entries must have flawless grammar. Smogon has a Grammar & Prose team that will help identify mistakes.
  • Pokedex Entries cannot be longer than 32 words.
  • Pokedex Entries can only contain the following characters:
    • Letters A-Z
    • Numbers 0-9
    • Dash (-)
    • Apostrophe (')
    • Double quote (")
    • Period (.)
    • Comma (,)
    • Colon (:)
    • Semi-colon (;)
    • Space

Work In Progress (WIP) Pokedex Entries can be posted at any time for comments from the community.

No more than three WIP Pokedex Entries can be posted by any individual person through the entire course of the submission thread. This limit applies to ALL posts made by a single person, even if previous posts are edited or deleted. This limit is intended to curb the tendency for some submitters to spam the thread repeatedly with multiple Pokedex Entries. This detracts from other submissions and makes it difficult for commenters to survey the submission thread.

Do not bump your WIP Pokedex Entries by posting them repeatedly, or making minor wording changes. Bumping will result in the disqualification of all Pokedex Entries by the offender. Editing or deleting bump posts will not prevent disqualification.

Only ONE Final Submission can be made per person.

Pokedex Entry Final Submissions can only be posted after a CAP Moderator posts in the thread that final submissions are open. Any final submission posted prior to the Moderator notification post, will disqualify the submitter from the poll entirely. Even if the offending post is edited later or deleted, the submitter will still be disqualified for the remainder of the thread. This ensures that all submitters have equal opportunity to post final submissions without anyone unfairly "jumping the gun".

Pokedex entries Final Submissions must posted exactly in the following format and in the following exact order:
  • The first line of the post must have the words "Final Submission" in bold on it's own line. No other text may be included before the bold heading.
  • A blank line
  • "<Pokemon Name>, the <Species Name> Pokemon", with the Pokemon name and the Species Name in bold
  • A blank line
  • The Sun Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Sun" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Moon Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Moon" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Ultra Sun Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Ultra Sun" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Ultra Moon Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Ultra Moon" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
Below the Final Submission you can post other comments, explanations, etc.

Example final submission:

Magearna, the Artificial Pokémon

Sun: This artificial Pokémon, constructed more than 500 years ago, can understand human speech but cannot itself speak.

Moon: Its mechanized body is merely a vessel. Its true self is its Soul-Heart, an artificial soul.

Ultra Sun: It synchronizes its consciousness with others to understand their feelings. This faculty makes it useful for taking care of people.

Ultra Moon: Built roughly 500 years ago by a scientist, the part called the Soul-Heart is the actual life-form.
Any Final Submission that does not follow the proper format will be disqualified. You may post Final Submissions.

You guys have a few days but I'll be looking to tie this up sooner rather than later. I am already collating all the other changes we have made to the Gen 5 prevos in order to update them all at once (Gen 5 Prevos + Mumbao), in preparation for what is essentially CaP LC V2.

Mumbao the Nano Tree Pokemon

Sun: Mumbao live in colonies centered around individual Jumbao. Their cries are loudest when Jumbao spar, each colony cheering for their own champion.

Moon: When Mumbao evolves, it challenges the Jumbao of its colony to battle. How well the new Jumbao does determines how many Mumbao go with it when it leaves for new territory.

Ultra Sun: It tries to imitate Jumbao's sap cannons, but is usually not strong enough to provide much force. Because of this, Mumbao's skin is sometimes coated in hardened sap.

Ultra Moon: Mumbao will crowd around the feet of Jumbao when frightened. Larger colonies take longer to disperse, leaving Jumbao at a standstill for hours or days on end.

Mumbao the Tiny Tree Pokemon

Sun: Mumbao nimbly hop around opponents when looking for a fight. They will often tackle enemies repeatedly until they or their opponent is too tired to move.

Moon: Young Mumbao are highly active and constantly need exercise. Many trainers have experienced harm from a hyperactive Mumbao tackling them.

Ultra Sun: Mumbao will often excitedly follow a strong Jumbao they look up too into battle. It is said the stronger the Jumbao they look up too, the stronger they are when they evolve.

Ultra Moon: The top of Mumbao's heads have natural pain resistance. This allows them to bash into trees or opponents to release energy with minimal harm.

Mumbao the Shrub Pokémon

Sun: Mumbao gain quite a bit of energy while exposed to sunlight. They often dispose of this extra energy in bouts of playful tackling and shoving.

Moon: The branches on a Mumbao's head hold the beginnings of a nutrient-rich sap. As they play, the sap sloshes around, creating a sound similar to maracas.

Ultra Sun: Mumbao gain extra energy when out in the sun, but often tire in the evenings as it sets. This regular daily rhythm makes them ideal for young or inexperienced trainers.

Ultra Moon: Mumbao are often employed in native Alolan healing rituals, in which chants are set to the maraca-like sound of sap sloshing in their branches.

Mumbao, the Sapling Pokémon

Sun: Mumbao love to play in bright sunshine. However, the water supply in their body quickly dries out in these conditions, so they take frequent naps.

Moon: When rain approaches, it will cry out and flee to take refuge beneath the nearest Jumbao. People use the behavior of Mumbao to predict weather patterns.

Ultra Sun: Mumbao runs around eagerly during the day, but it's rather clumsy, so it topples over often. It must learn to stay calm and balanced before it can evolve.

Ultra Moon: It's said that the sap inside a Mumbao can cure any ailment when ingested. This was proven false twenty years ago, but many Mumbao are still hunted for their sap.

Final Submission

Mumbao, the Mini Tree Pokémon

Sun: Mumbao live a certain way in their lives before becoming Jumbao. This way of living involves vigorous amounts of training and food.

Moon: After their long training for the day is over, they have the freedom to do anything they want for the night though most rest to get bigger and prepare for more training.

Ultra Sun: When training, Mumbao have bouts to fight with other Mumbao with a Jumbao as a referee on the winner of the bout. Victors will often go to a higher rank and be more successful.

Ultra Moon: Mumbao have a strong dislike in rain and try to stop it either by using their sap or by trying to use Sunny Day to make the rain go away.

Mumbao, the Seedling Pokémon

Sun: Sparring between Mumbao is more than just training; it's fun. With how often and energetically they practice, an aspiring wrestler could learn much from their technique.

Moon: When Mumbao are nearby, any plant could explode with vitality at a moment's notice. Wurmple and Caterpie eagerly listen for their lumbering steps and follow behind.

Ultra Sun: Mumbao show off to strangers by cheerfully pounding on them. If isolated, they never learn that new friends have less sturdy bodies, so travelers in truly remote areas must be on guard.

Ultra Moon: The spikes on Mumbao's feet seamlessly root into soil and efficiently draw out nutrients. Other Grass-type Pokemon know to move on if too few - or too many.- Mumbao claim an expanse.

Mumbao, the Cute Tree Pokémon

Sun: Mumbao is obsessed with berries. This obsession drives it to hoard and bury its stockpile so other Pokémon may not find them.

Moon: When Mumbao rustles its leaves, it sounds like the laughter of a child. They often do this to express their intense happiness.

Ultra Sun: Mumbao often forgets where it has hidden its collection of berries. Many berry orchards have appeared as a result of Mumbao’s forgetfulness.

Ultra Moon: On windy days, some forests roar to life with laughter. The louder these giggling forests are, the more Mumbao live there.

Mumbao, the Small Tree Pokemon.

Sun: This species of Pokemon seem to prefer sunny weather over rain. Nevertheless, they can still be seen hopping around energetically regardless of weather.

Moon: When Mumbao are happy with their trainer, the shade of their skin becomes lighter. When they are ready to evolve, their skin will have the colour of tan.

Ultra Sun: The seeds that this Pokemon produce have numerous health benefits. It is rumoured that just eating one will increase your lifespan.

Ultra Moon: It is said that Mumbao hopping around farmer's crops signify a good harvest for the year. Because of this, superstitious farmers dare not to disturb their habitats.
